Cristian Mercado, CMP’s Fullerton-born founder, has loved cinema and directing films since age 14. He started in the entertainment industry at 17 as a lighting intern on Kendrick Lamar’s Swiming Pools (Drank) music video. After getting a bachelor’s degree in Narrative Production and Directing from CSULB he moved to Hollywood to produce short films, music videos, and fashion videos. He was brought on by 88 Phases to run their video department and was mentored by Yu Tsai in all things fashion. After starting his own company he had the pleasure of working with brands like Harper’s Bazaar, Guess, and L’Officiel and with talents like Kerry Washington, Priyanka Chopra, Jennifer Lopez, and Kiernan Shipka.

To satisfy his first and biggest dream of directing movies he entered the feature film industry and worked with Hidden Figures director Ted Melfi as an assistant on the Netflix film The Starling.

After a stint directing an outdoor TV show around the US and New Zealand, he has put all his focus on creating CMP Video, an agency that grows local businesses online with monthly video packages.
